Definition
A confidence score (zekerheidsscore) is a value indicating how certain an AI system is that a booking proposal or bank match is correct, so you can decide what may run automatically and what needs review.
Also known as: Zekerheidsscore, Confidence score, Betrouwbaarheidsscore
A confidence score expresses how reliable a system judges its own output to be. In bookkeeping, the question is whether the recognised supplier, amount, general ledger account and VAT code are correct, or whether a payment really belongs to a particular invoice. A high score means the outcome closely matches previous, comparable situations.
For a firm, the confidence score is the mechanism for steering automation without losing control. A score lets you separate routine work that can be processed straight away from doubtful cases an employee should look at. That way review time goes to the documents where the risk is, rather than to everything equally.
In Autoboeker every entry gets a confidence score and explanation. Every bank match also gets a confidence score, based on amount, reference, IBAN, contact and date (bank matching is available for Exact Online, Twinfield and SnelStart). Combined with your own confidence threshold, the score determines what is booked or reconciled automatically and what waits as a proposal. Answers to client questions are also analysed with AI and given a score.
Example
An invoice from a regular supplier with a familiar amount pattern gets a high score and is booked automatically. An invoice from an unknown party with unusual VAT gets a lower score and goes to an employee.
FAQ
Questions about confidence score.
That the system is unsure about one or more fields, for example because the supplier is new or the invoice differs from earlier entries. The proposal is then held for review.
In Autoboeker the AI learns from corrections and historical entries, so proposals for similar documents become better founded.
