A confidence threshold is a cut-off value linked to a confidence score. If a proposal scores above the threshold, the action runs automatically. If it scores below, a person reviews the proposal first. With a high threshold you only automate the most predictable cases; with a lower threshold you let more go through automatically.
For a firm, the threshold is the control that balances risk against efficiency. A new client or an administration with many special cases calls for a cautious setting, while a stable administration with regular suppliers can be automated further. Being able to vary it per client lets automation grow with the confidence you build in the processing.
