With iDEAL, someone pays online by approving a payment in their own online banking environment or banking app. The payee receives immediate confirmation that the payment succeeded. iDEAL is the most widely used online payment method in the Netherlands. Businesses usually offer iDEAL through a payment service provider, such as Mollie, which handles the payment page and processing.
For a firm's clients, an iDEAL payment link on an invoice means customers pay faster, because they are done in a few clicks. For the firm, the advantage is that the payment status is known immediately and the payment is linked to the right invoice. That reduces unclear receipts on the bank statement and makes reconciliation easier.
