Bookkeeping that doesn't reduce you to a number
At IJkmaat, bookkeeping is about more than processing figures. The Nijmegen firm takes care of business owners' full financial administration and tax obligations, and above all wants to help them look ahead rather than back. With short lines, long partnerships and proactive thinking, IJkmaat positions itself as the business owner's own finance department.
To deliver on that promise, the work behind the scenes has to run as efficiently as possible. That's why IJkmaat works with Autoboeker on top of Exact Online: for processing at the firm and for collaborating with business owners in their own client environment.
02
The challenge: less time processing, more time for business owners
A modern finance department does more than book invoices and file returns. Business owners expect insight into their figures, quick answers and a firm that thinks ahead. At the same time, much of the daily work consists of repetitive tasks: processing invoices, matching bank transactions, requesting missing documents and producing overviews.
When all that runs through different programs, emails and loose documents, it takes a lot of time. For IJkmaat, efficiency isn't a goal in itself: organising the administrative basis more smartly creates room for personal attention and advice. Serious about figures, without the business owner becoming a number.
Not to replace personal contact, but to make more room for it.
03
AI processing: less data entry, more checking
Autoboeker analyses purchase invoices and recognises the supplier, amounts, VAT and invoice details. Based on earlier bookings and the administration rules that have been set, a booking proposal is prepared, which depending on the settings is processed automatically or presented to the team for review. Autoboeker also matches bank transactions with their invoices.
The team copies over less data and focuses on exceptions and substantive checks. IJkmaat's team keeps checking the bookkeeping; the gain is in less repetitive handwork, not less attention.
- Recognising invoices without templates
- Booking proposals based on history and rules
- Matching bank transactions with invoices
- Attention for exceptions instead of data entry

Client questions: no more endless emails about missing documents
A payment has come in but the invoice is missing, or a transaction can't be recognised right away. Traditionally that means emails, reminders and loose lists of open questions. With Autoboeker, IJkmaat raises a client question that the business owner sees in the client dashboard or app, showing straight away what it's about.
The business owner answers or adds the missing document, and the answer stays linked to the right item. IJkmaat can follow progress more easily; business owners find answering questions clearer and less time-consuming.
05
Reports: figures that help you look ahead
IJkmaat wants to give business owners a grip on their financial situation, and current figures are essential for that. In the Autoboeker client dashboard, business owners view reports based on their updated bookkeeping: revenue and costs, a month-on-month comparison and, because IJkmaat works with Exact Online, the VAT overview too.
A business owner doesn't have to keep asking for an overview. The figures are the basis for conversations about the future of the business rather than the past. IJkmaat focuses on interpreting results, spotting developments and advising on next steps.
06
Invoicing: sales invoices from the same environment
Autoboeker makes the sales side easier too. IJkmaat's clients create and send professional invoices and quotes from their client environment. An accepted quote becomes an invoice in one click, their customers pay online with iDEAL via Mollie, and open invoices are followed up automatically.
The invoices land directly in Exact Online, so invoicing and bookkeeping fit together. For the business owner that means less switching between systems; for IJkmaat, bookkeeping that's in order from the invoice onwards.
